| Abstract | Despite scientific advances, we are losing ground against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a pathogen with which a third of us share our lives. Challenges include fundamental biologic questions; hurdles for translational medicine; and societal deficits in resources, incentives, collaboration, and leadership. Fortunately, the crisis is inspiring scientific and organizational creativity. |
